Éco-quartier Peter-McGill unveiled two murals in the Peter-McGill district!

The murals were created by the artists from the company A’Shop as part of the Mural Art Program funded by the City of Montreal and by the Ville-Marie Borough*.

The mural The foreseeable future created by Earth Crusher is located on Saint-Mathieu Street, corner Saint-Catherine Street West, while Kaleidoscope created by the artist Benny Wilding is located on Saint-Marc Street, at the corner of Maisonneuve Boulevard West.

The intentions of these murals are:

  • Embellish the urban landscape with art
  • Support and showcase artistic creations
  • Encourage citizens, companies and organizations to mobilize for the improvement of their living environment
  • Prevent vandalism, in particular the appearance of graffiti
  • Promote access to art in all neighbourhoods of the City of Montreal
  • Increase the sense of pride and belonging to the City
  • Enrich the public artistic heritage

And finally, this initiative was made possible thanks to the funding by “Murals in neighbourhoods” of the Mural Art Program (PAM). Co-financed by the City of Montreal and the Ville-Marie Borough, this program allowed for these two urban works to be created, which will from now on embellish the Peter-McGill district!
