We can help reduce our environmental footprint by eating local foods.
In winter, this means turning to local fruits and vegetables that keep longer.
Here are some suggestions :
Vegetables: potatoes, leeks, Brussels sprouts, carrots, white cabbage, kale, red cabbage, Chinese cabbage, pumpkin, celery, endives, onions, salsify and Jerusalem artichokes.
Fruits : apples, frozen berries grown in Quebec.
Here’s a suggestion for the new year: you can support a Quebec farmer and enjoy local produce throughout the growing season.
Éco-quartier Peter-McGill is a drop-off point for baskets of organic produce from Ferme Samson.
We are delighted to be working with this local farmer, and to help consumers enjoy their wonderful baskets of fresh fruits and vegetables.
